looking to buy a z4 roadster

hi
as the title says my girlfriend wants a z4 , so firstly are they reliable cars ? any common problems we should know about before buying ?

and if anyone is looking to sell up she wants a preferably black 2.0 , we have the cash so its just realy finding the right car now so anyone looking to sell a 2.0 2.2 or 2.5 in black , budget around the 8k mark

For that money (age of car) you'll be looking at the 2.2 or 2.5 - the 2.0 was a facelift model. Given the price bracket I'd be inclined to look for all colours and buy on condition. Even if you hold out for black, buy on condition.

There are a couple of issues - main one to look out for is the roof motor, easy one is if it's been replaced. Springs are one to check when buying, and the airbag light. Have a look at the FAQ (sticky in the Discussion section) and check out AlanJ's buying guide.
