Looking to buy a Z4 on a budget

What a beautiful Z4 you have there Paul, and a superb paint and interior combo. You are a very lucky man, and I hope you enjoy your new zed.

I cannot wait to get mine, but I am playing the slow game and it may not be till 2016 when I finally get my 3.0 E85 :( (i am waiting for my company share save to pay out next spring!)

Certainly worth waiting for the right one. I'd been wanting a Z4 for ages but found they were to expensive but now the prices have dropped I could afford one. This Z4 ticked all the boxes and pretty excited! Not even picked it yet either as having to wait till the owner is home later tonight. I wish you all the best when looking for one.

Just got back from a 2 hour return trip collecting the Z4 and loved every minute, had the window down and listened to that straight six engine!

Also a big thank you to guys having helped me with my newbee questions very much appreciated

Well done on the purchase. It looks a cracking Zed.

Now then... Down to business. Am I correct in saying you had a budget of £5,500 for us to spend on suggested modifications for your car ? :poke:

Lol! I had 5.5k to buy a Z4 :driving:
I wanted to know what mods were popular as some can be quite cost affective. I like the idea of replacing bulbs with LEDs to sharpen up lights but my priority at the moment is getting that valve checked the one that sits at the top of the engine forgotten the name! Then getting the car serviced and a full health check then from there can see what needs doing.

Yes, we all thought that..and then joined this forum ! It wont be long before someone you've never met in your life talks you into spending your hard earned money on items you never knew existed and never before wanted !! :D

Enjoy the Zed...and your savings

Lol! I do know what you mean been trawling the internet all afternoon looking at goodies for the Z but I really would like to keep this one close to looking OEM  I love the idea of drilled front brake discs especially as the alloys are so thin spoked the discs would really stand out.

I do have a question for you guys in the know should there be 3.0l badges on my front wings near the indicators if so what badge should it be? Log book says 3.0l and service book says 3.0l se :-/

Paul

You may have a car where the original owner ticked the 'model delete' option. Does the car have a 'Z4' badge on the rear boot lid or is that missing too?

Yep that's missing too! Should there be a Z4 boot badge?

Normally yes, & 3.0i by the side indicator-it's either been "de badged" or the original owner ticked the no badge option on the options list.
Regards

Cheers guys I'm guessing they ticked the no badge option as the car is completely standard other than a device fitted that picks up my iPhone and streams my tunes down through to the OEM stereo which is pretty cool.

Paul

Nice one Skelters  very handy if I decide to rebadge it.

Another thing I just noticed after glancing at my Z passing my lounge window as you do well maybe not as many times as I have today  is that the round indicators on the front wings have a clear lens and a orange bulb fitted, are these aftermarket ones?

Skelters you top man  car never came with the manual unless it's in the car not had time to check as away. Got myself some serious reading by the looks of it. Being a bank holiday it's been such a rush getting the Z home then having to visit relatives and so on so not had a chance to really see what features this car has, was only stopping for some fuel on the way home when I touched a button on the door and the mirrors folded up!!! :?

Paul
