Hi All, just like to say hi, I was origininally an old Z4 3L 2003 owner, who has spent the last 4 years owning several Lotus's. Namely, Elise, Evora and Exige. However, now that the new shape Z4 seems to be getting more reasonable in price, I am looking for a good 35is model with manual transmission. Do i have a cat in hells chance? There seems to be so few around. Anybody got one they want to sell?

Or am i looking for hens teeth?

Also, quick question, is the driving experience of the 3.5is twin turbo better than the 250 BHP 3.0I NA, in terms of feel and turbo lag?? I have a test drive booked to see for myself, but would appreciate any thoughts?

Cheers Scott

Manual is not a current option on the 35iS - only the DCT available - don't know if this has always been the case - but if it has I guess you're going to struggle ;)

There is this one for sale at the moment. Seems to be labelled as a manual.

Not sure about the orange though, other than that it looks like someone has bought it for the best part of £47k and then handed it back!! bizarre, bargain now though.

Look at the photos. Its not a manual. They do not exist I'm afraid. Never made.

There were no 35is in manual.
Those who want to have a proper gearbox have to choose a 35i with 300 HP instead of 340 :-(

Ok, I am starting to get it now. The 35i I can have in manual. There are a few of these flaoting around so not difficult. The 35is is for people who like automatics (not me).

So here is the second question then. If the 35i is th twin turbo engine, how does it compare as a drivers car to the 3.0i with the NA engine? I am test driving the 35i just in at Stratstone Tyneside tomorrow at 2pm, to see what the twin turbo engine is like. However, cant help noticing similar performance figures for the 3.0i which does seem to come with an optioned M Sport suspension set up, for track. I am thinking i need to drive these back to back and see what i like best.

Am i thinking along the right lines here?
