I have done the basic sways, camber plate, coilovers, semi slicks but now are looking for a bit more. What have u seen to improve performance in ur car?

what im looking into are:

Pulleys?
change final drive?
LSD?
clutch and flywheel?

Just need another 2 seconds and i am happy :D

Agree totally on brakes and driving training.

I've seen a Vauxhual senator DESTORY everything on a trackday, inc EVO's and such. Talk about 'mr commitment' :D

Having brakes that will hold up for lap after lap of punishment will be a huge advantage too. Clutch/flywheel almost pointless, a diff would certainly help though.

Agree on weight saving but that isn't always easy, but you may want to get some lighter wheels, unsprung weight etc.

Yep, some lightweight wheels, ally calipers (multipiston type) and floating brake discs etc will all spare some more power :)

I rekon you could save a fair bit of weight, but it'd mean a compromised road car. Some road/race Recaro seats might save 25kg or so. I will agree it's not as easy to shave weight as a 4 seater kinda car.

I bet the exhaust weight could be cut down a great deal, but again you might not like it so loud if you cut back the silencer size/count.

Pop the radio out for track work (2 minute job) and another few kg gone that are fairly high up :)

Weight is the killer on a track, so decent wheel/brake changes might save you 10kg a corner (ish)

On the track I don't think any of those mods will make much difference. Maybe the LSD

Just get more training and you'll probably lose 2 secs easily right there.

LoL great feedback!
Always love this forum!

i tried letting the air out of my friends tyres but he ended up getting a better lap time! hahaha
i might try popping out the head unit. how easy is it to take out the amp and the subbies behind the seat?
ive already put the semi's on the 18" so will have to run them out first before changing
upgraded pads, rotors, fluid, braided lines already done
Might need some driving practice and see how it goes!

anything else i can take out for teh track day? convertible roof? lol

TIRES, TIRES, TIRES ... only 4 points of the car that are actually touching the ground ...

nothing wrong with the comments about the brakes, but strong brakes with crappy tires = lots of ABS action

good tires = more cornering speed = less braking that is needed to enter the turn

of course, driver training would be the most important "mod", but that's not really a "car mod" :P :P

Tires and Brakes is what you need to be able to drive properly, skill of course needed in the meaning of properly. Brakes (pads, fluids) make sure you don't end up in the walls. Tires shave off the time most.

Here is a nice test done by Sport Auto magazine (in German) in Hockenheim, which just shows the advantage of semi-slicks in a Audi TT-S.
(Seriereifen = standard tires, Sportreifen = Semi-slicks, Fahrwerk = Suspension, Leistung = Chip-tuning)

Just with semi-slicks they got almost 2sec of the laptime, with more power (43 bhp) just 0,7sec.

So to agree on most of the comments, get some good tires and learn to drive :)

Edit: Ah, jumped to conclusions without really reading you post fully, like most. Seems you already have everything there done. Then power doesn't hurt. Supercharging if probably the only way to get real power, so LSD and better ratio there to suite your track might be the next steps. Shorter ratio will boost the acceleration nicely and LSD allows you to fully utilize that acceleration out-of-the-corner. Also make sure you have the set-up done correctly, corner weighting the coilovers and having proper wheel alignment for the semi-slicks.
