Looking For Some Help

Ok so I have a few things I need doing on the Z and have no ability to do them myself, this is due to lack of tools and technical ability! Is there anyone in the West Yorkshire area that might be interested in earning some beer tokens for helping sort my window wipers and roof drains out?

you could bring it to mine but im no where near west yorkshire! my wipers have developed an annoying squeak so i want to take them apart and grease them up. the drains are pretty easy to do yourself if you have a jack and a screwdriver.

The most common issue is the actual pivot on the arm. Clean and lube that (not WD40) before you strip it all down.

pivot on the arm? do you mean the bit that the wiper arm bolt onto another bit within the wiper mechanism?

i take it if you remove the arms then the black piece of trim comes off and exposes the whole mechanism...

nova, have a go at the drains it really isnt difficult and only really needs a screw driver to get the access panel off. its just a bit awkward with the wheel on as the car is so low.

well im taking the wheels off on Friday to do the calipers so ill take a look then? where can i get a picture of the cover i need to remove? :o

there are a few pics here, one is not so clear as to the angle it was taken at. i think its more from underneath the car than from the wheel arch. if your wheels are off then its pretty easy.

mine were quite clear. on the drivers side where its easier to see the top of the drain i could clearly see the top of the drain tube and with a hose running it was draining quite fast.

the bungs that go across the bottom of the tube are the bit that get clogged the easiest. they are attached to a plastic bit of tube. pull off the bit of tube too so you can attach the bung to the tube and then push it back onto the drain. this is much easier than messing about. ive not bothered putting mine back on and have had no trouble at all with water ingress which some fear would happen despite it being outside all the time and driven in all weathers
