Hey chaps new to the board, but have owned a z3 for the last 4 years.

Whilst traveling through calne the other day I spotted what appeared to be a 3ltr Z4 for sale. In the back windscreen was one of your stickers. So I am assuming was a member of the forum at some point so may have made it to meets etc.

As a car it looked stunning, although absolutely filthy. The garage really should be ashamed of themselves. However It didnt stop me from having a closer look.

Having owned a Z3 1.9 for the last 4 years, is it time to move on>... What are the thoughts on a 3.ltr and does anyone know of can personally vouch for the car, and its mechanical state?

pop the reg no. in here and get the MOT history ( 3 litre is the engine to go for and its got the hard top, which is a good start )

Hmm interesting it has a year missing..

May have been parked up for a year. Asking regarding Z3 to Z4. More me they are totally different,I am lucky enough to have the sane engine in both they are still like night and day.
The 3 is more mechanical in it's drive, and feels a small car after the 4. The 3 I love for "driver feedback" ...thats due to proper hydraulic steering.the 4 feels less involving but is a lovely car to take on a ling road trip.
My advice would be drive one, the power will be totally different, the drive! We'll that you will have to decide.

£6350 :? 53 plate 56k miles & a hardtop , id want to be nearer £5k or go for a later Si on higher miles same spend
The car does look familiar , the wheels are a rarity , look like genuine BBS Motorsport 18s so worth trailing back through the forum classifieds to see if it appears

Daniel Goldie old one??

That's big money. There are some good 3.0s for sale at the moment here for far less money. Even a gamble on a 3.5k car would most likely pay off. Unless the engine goes bang which is unlikely nothing costs more than £200 to have repaired like an abs pump or steering column.

Yep looks like Goldbcfc owned this at one point.

Is that a good thing or bad? seems like there a fair bit of Bantz about this person.

Read on phone initially so apologies for mis read on price  if it was ( & most likely is ) ex Goldy be sure to check everything is there that should be :P

So as far as I understand gouldy is a trader that trades in z's but strips them of bits that new owners won't know there missing.. wind deflectors etc..

What bits should I be checking it has..?

He also likes to rag them around a track or two.
He used to come on here bragging about stripping parts off zeds them selling them for a supposed profit. Then came back on here crying when another home trader supposedly has his pants down on one car. Telling us all not to buy a car off the guy!

Tbf he rarely kept them over a month before listing so i doubt he would have driven any significant miles to harm the car .
The windbreaker will most likely be gone along with cupholders ( if there were any)
The BBS 18s are worth good money ( if no splits or buckles ) if interested take the car out & see how it feels / sounds then check paperwork as most of his cars were "blind" auction cars i believe

Was this the guy that wanted to charge £250,000 for a set of red M sport seats?

Strange guy .. I made a comment on one his many posts on one of the Facebook groups saying he should be declaring he was a trader as he was by his own admission buying and selling for profit

It resulted in threatening messenger messages from him, which I eventually had to report

Well I took a look at it.. And maybe it wasnt his.. or the last owner has restocked the missing bits.. :) as it still had the wind break, warning triangle, and first aid kit and floor mats! Underneath the hard top, was a tan soft top, not my ideal colour, but it kept the lightness of the car. I guess I will get used to it. I dont think the hood motor had been moved, but worked well enough.
The car appeared to be well looked after, and had been cleaned sine my last unanounced visit and sounded and performed amazing.
I am thinking of putting an offer in... If accepted, I think I will be shelling out a bit more on petrol, but hope that it will be worth it.. Watch this space..

Well it sounds like a good example, and a hard-top is a bonus.

It isn't difficult to get over 30 mpg out of a 3.0 so they aren't exactly uneconomical.

If you go for it don't forget the photos! :)
