Looking for opinion/help on which BBK to go with?

so looking for a little guidance on which BBK to purchase;

my number 1 option is the AP RACING kit in red; the genuine UK version, not the american one that used some stillen bits and pieces...but then I came across a newer upstart company out of the states called Sparta Evolution;

I guess a brembo gt kit would also be a choice? or endless japan as well?

would like to hear everyones thoughts/recommendations/choices...

thanks

AP is great but personally after recent experiences with recommendations to a US member he struggled to get a warranty claim due to the distance and felt unheard, so for that id stick with the one that can troubleshooted and the manufacturers chased from your locality. so stop tech for you. AP setup is imo the best available for the z4 platform but then again the PF looks like another step up again, I've driven a car with the stop tech and brembo and the pedal feel was no where near as nice as the AP setup. I also need to say that a 6pot / 4 pot setup is overkill on this car unless your really working it, the stock items are actually very good , pads fluid change, lines and you'll have a very competent setup.

A thorough recent review of the main BBK for BMW's.

I have both AP's and K sports. Apart from the K sport being a bit more difficult to set up, the performance and feel are no different. I can't vouch for durability as both have done under 10k miles.

i loved reading this until i realised they didn't use the same pad with each kit, they used the pad supplied with each kit, some of these kits are sent out with a road biased pad and you specify a track setup, some sent with more track biased pad, this test could have been awesome had they used the same pads and fluid in each test run for each BBK, with the variables the test becomes useless IMO of course, i would have liked to see them use the full front and rear kits too as opposed to just the front. The PF calliper with those individual pads blew my mind, thats incredible.

I have the AP kit on my car and I'm pretty happy with it - 6 pot front and 4 pot rears. I haven't used any other brake setup on a Z4M so cannot compare. However, I would say that to me the feel is far from the best I have used, though I suspect that is down to the over-servo'd nature of the BMW brake system rather than the calipers themselves.

If looking for a BBK I would want to check things like:

a) disc alternatives - e.g. the AP kit can use AP or PF front discs and AP or BMW OEM rears - so you aren't necessarily committed to the brake manufacturer
b) pad alternatives - lots of companies make pads for the AP fitment, I use Pagid RS29 front and 4-2 rear

thanks for the responses everyone;

I think regardless the AP kit is the way to go, I think I will just go ahead and look for a uk retailer...does anyone have any recommendations? now being out of country I am not subject to the vat of 20% am I?

so to confirm;

this is the correct kit;

and then I guess where to purchase again if anyone has any recommendations?
