I was lucky enough to have one on my car when I bought it. If I ever sell the car the strut brace will be sold separately

You might want to consider an OEM M3 brace

I've read conflicting information that the OE E46 M3 brace doesn't quite fit and requires modification for it to work. Anyone have insight?

I just got an M3 brace and all the bits for £159 off ebay. I believe you need to pull the camber pins, that’s it. I’ll be tapping up srhutch for some advice on that once it’s been freshly powder-coated

Yep, just cut the top off or remove the camber pins, that is it.

Plus maybe a few washers as it sits a little closer to the engine than the Z4 one.
Other than that - IMHO it looks so much more OEM than the silvery Z4 version, being matt black like the existing firewall bars. Especially with the plastic "M" strut-tower covers.

Yep, with a Dremel.
