Looking for my first Z4

Evening!

Long time lurker here and finally decided to bite the bullet and actively look for a Z4. It has been a favourite of mine for years and I’m now in the position to get one as a weekend toy and occasionally drive it to work when sunny.

Been looking for a decent example for around £3.5 - 4K not really fussed about mileage as long as it’s been well maintained recently and bodywork isn’t totally gone! Have seen a few really good examples around on autotrader and gumtree. Viewed a few that weren’t even cleaned for the viewing, which is an instant no for me. The ones that look really good examples just seem to go so fast or the current owner messes around with meeting (maybe reluctant seller).

Anyway! If anyone knows of a good example around the Bristol area for my budget then please send them my way, I would prefer manual and black interior but not a deal breaker.

Thanks both and oh I will have plenty of photos to share! I’m looking for something long term so hope to make some mods over time but nothing taking too much away from the already beautiful piece of design and engineering.

It looks like the forum has plenty of advice and tips so eager to get stuck in!
 
Welcome matey. Quite a few come up in the for sale section on here. Most E85s I've seen for sale here are above your stated budget, though.
You will find one, there are plenty about. Good luck and ask if you need any help; there are lots of very knowledgeable and helpful people on here (not me I'm clueless) :D

thank you! I never really checked eBay as I always found it clunky, I will have a good browse tonight. I am looking at a 2.5si sport on the weekend with 101k on the clock and looks immaculate with the roof motor already in the boot. MOT history looks good with only advisories being tyres in the past, all going well I’ll have one Saturday, pics will most definitely follow!

Good shout if you can get a straight six over a 4 pot for that money and it stacks up. Let us know how you get on :thumbsup:

no it’s not one from eBay, one I have been looking at on autotrader, slightly over my budget but the condition (from the photos and available history) looks like it’s worth the extra investment. It ticks all the boxes for me with straight 6, black interior, good history and what looks to be a careful current owner. Fingers crossed it works out
 
Bought one! Not any I was looking at to begin with but it’s a 2009 2.0 sport manual in blue. On the train to Oxfordshire this afternoon to pick her up. The dealer was very honest and open about some minor issues, biggest of which is the rocker gasket, which in my limited knowledge is not a big deal, just have to watch the oil until fixed.

Just got her back home, what a fun drive! Felt good all the way home and moved through the gears lovely.
