Looking for my first Z4 M Roadster

Hello everyone!
I’m new to this forum so hopefully I’m in the right place
I’m looking at a Z4 M Roadster, 2007 plate with 68k on the clock.
Is there anything in particular I should be looking for or asking? Is there anything that’s common that needs to be done at this mileage / age? Cambelt? Etc....

Also, I’ve noticed a couple of comments on the steering. Can someone advise what the power stearing is on these cars?

The M doesn't have a cambelt, it has chains so they generally don't need changing. The steering is hydraulic so no issues there. It's the none M cars that have electronic steering that can fail.
Look for as good a possible service history, run in service, inspection 1 and inspection 2. I suspect it will be due an inspection 1. The valve clearances are inspection 1 and 2 (stand to be corrected) it better to get them checked so it runs properly. It will be worth getting the vanos checked too as they can need a rebuild - neither are actually show stoppers but will detract from the drive. You may read about the bearing shells needing to be replaced from anywhere between 60 - 100k, this always stirs a wasps nest!! Some cars need them, some don't do it is personal choice but factor in around 1k to get them done. Other than checking panel gaps, paint shades, obvious crash damage and enduring everything works I'd say enjoy

2007 with 68k, that's very specific.

I really wouldn't worry about the year, they are really only from 2006-2008 with a very rare 2009 found once in a blue moon.

Buy on condition and history of car, although there are no guarantees :wink:

First service 21-07-08. 5204 miles. Oil, inspection 1and air filter.
Second service 02-08-09. 11302 miles. Oil, inspection 2 and air filter.
Third service 01-10-10. 17294 miles. Oil, inspection 1and air filter.
Forth service 03-06-13. 27618 miles. Oil, inspection 2 and air filter.
Fifth service 09-04-14. 29951 miles. Oil.
Sixth service ??-07-15. 38934 miles. Inspection 1.
Seventh service 10-11-16. 50890 miles. Inspection 2 and air filter.
Eighth service 03-05-19. 64835 miles. Oil.

Would this give any major causes for concern? It seems a little sketchy at times...?
