Looking for my 1st z4

Hi guys

This is my 1st post im looking at selling my bmw e46 325ci convertible and buying a z4.

I currently have bmw mv2 wheels on my car and I was wondering if my wheels would go straight on to a z4 if I was to buy one ?

The tyre size is 255/35/18 on the back and 225/35/18 on the front.

I am new to the forum I did a search but nothing really that answered my question.

Hi Spall12, welcome to the Forum.

I like MV2 wheels and they do get fitted to the Zed. Your tyre sizes are ok, on mine it's 225/40/18 at the front 255/35/18 at the rear so you shouldn't have any problems (Note the difference in front sidewall).

A mrwilks is our resident expert in wheels and many of us (me included) have sought help and bought wheels and tyres from him - he should be able to give you the definitive answer - I'm sure he'll be along in a moment. . . .

I'm in the NE so don't know about Wiltshire but I'm certain you'll find some forumites around there.

MV2's are even quite common on the Zed, google some pics and you will see.
What engine Z4 are you after?

I'm looking for 3.0 roadster by choice but my price range is only 4.5k

I'm not sure if that is a realistic budget... at least no way you will find one at that price in Belgium. Are these then so much cheaper in the UK?

Try and hold out for the 3.0l, it's a peach of an engine. I haven't looked at the classifieds for a while so can't really point you in the right direction on that front, a bit of research on here should help you work out what to look out for. I think AlanJ has written a buyers' guide which should help. Good luck in your search.

I bought my 3.0 Z4 for 4.5k maybe a bit less. 82000 on the clock when I bought it. Sports seats, nice split rims, xeons. Full BMW service history, Well specd.

I live in Colchester but travelled to Yorkshire to buy it. Turned out it started life in 2004 in Colchester!

They're out there mate. I'm on 102,000 miles now after a years driving. Have had no problems. I changed the front wish bone bushes and added some new tyres. Drives amazing.
