Looking for: Airbag control unit #65776928570, 65776935920 or 65776965147 for Z4 E85 2.5i 2003

Hi all, im looking for an airbag control unit for my BMW Z4 Roadster (E85) 2.5i, manufactured Feb 2003.

Based on the information from RealOEM.com by using the last 7 digits of my car’s VIN number, the following part numbers should fit my car:
  • 65776928570 (this is the number of the module I had)
  • 65776935920
  • 65776965147 (this part is still available as new)

If you have one of those that’s fully functional and without crash data, please let me know. It’s been hard to find one.

A new part (-5147) costs more than 1000€, which seems a bit excessive for the old car. Yet I need to get it fixed - otherwise my car won’t pass the next inspection in June.

The fault code from the defective ECU is "0093DB - SIM Control unit undefined status".

Just checking:
If you get one, do you understand the coding that is required or have someone who can do it?
I ask because I have sent a couple to people bin the past who’s garage say yes they can do that, but then it turns out they can’t!
I have ended up doing it for them, but Helsinki is probably a bit too far. 🤣
 
I have a garage who believes they can do it. Whether they actually can remains to be seen…
 
Yup, go with Barry's. I don't have any better numnbers than that.

FYI, I have had a few now with 93DB and swapping that centre SIM85 always cures it.

Good afternoon to all. I´ve the same problem than de OP and the same fault code in my 2003 Z4 3.0i . My original unit reference is 65776935920. Recently I bought a second hand unit from a reliable seller on ebay, with the 65776938264 reference number. The case is that, when I´m trying to code the unit to the car with NCS (after coding the VIN number of my car in the new unit with Winkfp) it shows the following message "der codierindex folgender steuergeräte ist für diesen codierauftrag nicht zulässig SIM 05". The part number that shows, once I´ve code the VIN of my car, is 6962767.

I´m absolutely stock in this point and I don´t know if there is any solution to it. I´ll be very grateful if you could help me with this problem.
