Cards on the table: I'm a newbie but lurking for a while. I am a genuine buyer with no px, looking to get into the right car before the year is out.

Looking in all the usual places but if anyone happens to know of a car that might tick my boxes please get in touch.

Ideally a late pre-facelift (say 2005) 2.5 manual. Will consider older/newer if car is spot on. Same for 2.2 or 3.0. Not that keen on auto in a car like this.
Black or dark blue/grey, red/black or black interior, maybe others. Not scared of above average miles, won't pay a premium for low miles. Heated seats would be really nice, other options not fussed. Not fussed about wheels either but 4 good tyres would also be really nice.

Thanks and fingers crossed

Been to look at a 2006 3.0 sport this morning with 40k on the clock. Needs 2 tyres, all four discs and pads, some minor paint niggles, a key and an airbag light diagnostic which I am assured will be sorted at the fifteen grand sticker price. I suspect the car has been sitting around outside the BMW network for a little while (why?). Pushing the budget for a bigger engine than I need though

Privately on Autotrader same age 2.5 with fewer miles, ticking all the boxes and asking £12k. Sl cheeky I think and looking to get back some of the cost of "four brand new runflat tyres". A long way from me but going to phone for some more info

Lots of choice around £10-11k if you'll consider 2005 (which I will)

You will find most people on this forum have long since abandoned the runsh1te tyres in favour of non-RFTs, predominantly Falken 452's but loads of others to. the Z4M came with non-runflat Continentals on as standard, tells you all you need to know.

Don't be afraid of the 3.0 with the 6 speed box fuel ecomony between the it and the 2.5 in pre-facelift guise with the 5 speed is not that great. servicing is the same.

Be carefull if you go post facelift the 2.5SE has 177bhp and the Si or Sport has 218bhp

Good luck with the search.

Forgot to say: I'm in Cheshire but willing to travel for the right car. Once I've finished my toast I'll be off around the north west. Shame about the rain today!
