looking for A Z4

Hi all
Just joined as I'm looking to buy a z4 and think the site may be great for future use.

I'm looking ideally for 2.5 or 3.0 with good spec for budget of 5K (up to 6K if the right one comes along)
As everyone wants, it would be nice to have lower miles with history, smaller engine considered as condition is king.

I'm near Cardiff and prepared to travel for the right motor.

Everything I have seen in local garages have been a little 'unloved' and valeted for sale, so hoped to see a few owners that have been looked after them.

what do you think I can expect for my budget.
 
Click onto the for sale section of the forum and you'll get some idea of what's available. Also read through the what to look for post at the top of the forum for lots of information on the different Zeds.

An ex forum car with good history from an enthusiastic owner will see you right and this time of year they may come up for sale.

With patience you should find a good 3.0i pre face lift (pre-2006) in your budget but do check through the forum for information on specs colours etc. There's a lot of choice available at your price point.

I know Jimbo is selling his for a very reasonable price in the for sale section and those of us that have seen it will attest to it's great condition.

I'm also on the lookout for a 3.0 Z4.
Looked at one so far which I liked but couldn't agree a price on it.

I'm after a Manual
Preferably not in black
No red seats.
Up to 5.5k
 
Have been looking but been sensible and waited to sell my present car which went on the weekend....
Now I'm ready to buy.

Theres a cracking 3.0 on ebay at the moment in a garage but the 114k on the clock is putting me off....
There is service history but a 3 year gap until the garage just serviced it.....
Anyone bought a Z without worrying with these miles?

Another private sale 3.0 2004 full spec, sat nav, upgrade radio, heated M seats, all the trimmings you can have , low miles with service history (the colour I want)
But out of my upper limit at £7395!

Does that price sound OTT? It does to me after scouring the net to get a handle on pricing.

i wouldnt worry about a 3 year interval between services if the car hadnt covered many miles between them-if it had done 20k+ then i would walk away.

If it were from an obviously trustworthy owner I wouldn't mind but garages (non bmw) I'm not so trusting.
Turns out to be sold now anyhows.

Can anyone comment on the pricing of the other dearer one mentioned?

I have seen newer '06 '07 similar cars for the same price.

I guess I have to stick to my guns on my budget and play the waiting game......
