Looking for a z4 coupe near somerset/ bristol

Welcome to the forum
Is it the 3.0Si or the the M you are after ?
Also worth throwing on some additional wants or criteria to help narrow the field

Hi mr wilks, i think the 3 litre will be more than enough for me, however if an M came up for the right price it would be pretty hard to say no!
Thanks number 5, ill look into that

Theres usually a couple on the move in the region at anyone time. The trick is to know what spec you're after and not be impatient. A forum car is usually a good buy as they are well maintained, but sometimes people will sell on Autotrader or Ebay and not quite know what they're selling, or maybe desperate to sell for other domestic reasons and a bargain can be had.

Good luck.

Don't limit yourself to only buying local, the coupe isn't the most common car out there and you may well miss out on the better cars by not travelling. I am located not far from Bristol and when I was searching for mine covered many miles finding the perfect spec for me, Black with Nav, piano black trim and red leather. In the end I found mine the other side of Liverpool and when I sold it it went down to Brighton! Buying from a 'known' forum member is also a great idea as most will have their mods, history, problems etc listed for you to see in their threads.
Enjoy you've picked an amazing model to own.

Sound advice above. know what your after. Be Patient and be prepered to travel a few miles for the right car. Good hunting.

common faults:

The rear springs fail. cheap as chips to sort, but check ask/anyway
The roof motors fail. expensive so listen and check it's smooth and no creaks and groans

There's a decent impartial buyers guide running on Piston Heads. Hopefuly some one has a link.

Oh and welcome aboard. :D

Here you go found it on PH.

My M coupe is up for sale

I think it is worth travelling to Hull for (it is better than people think). Travelling the country looking for The One is part of the fun. I'd offer to meet half way but wouldn't be able to guarantee how sparkly and bug free it would be when I got there :(

Thanks for the advice guys, most helpful!
So ive been doing some research into what spec im after, metallic black with cream leather and piano dash. The M is a little bit out of my price range si ill stick with the 3.0 si. Mileage wise, i wouldnt want anything higher than 85000.
I agree with your comments, it does look as though im gonna have to do some travelling! But i guess thats all part of the fun ;)

This seems like a bit of a bargain....any thoughts people?

I would give the seller a call to establish what "most of the service history" means. If the initial 1,500 mile service was very late then save yourself the drive to see it.

Otherwise does look good.

Good luck with whatever you decide upon.

There is no 1,500 mile service on non ///M's

Seller lists cruise control and space saver spare. From the pics it doesn't have cruise, and I'm doubtful about the spare. Has M Sport seats which is a real plus for an SE.

A set of 18s on there could leave you with a very nice example at reasonable money
I like that the last owner has covered almost 5ok of the miles
Worth following up i'd say as a Se with choice bits (sport seats & Pb trim) will ride better than a Sport spec model with very little visual difference

I'd say from the pics that looks like a nice example

As per above look at the SH though there are two points to this - first for your own peace of mind that what needs to be done has been and secondly as the miles are getting up there on resale you need everything you can to tally up for a potential buyer - the higher miles the more this is important

Finally how many miles you planning on doing? If you nudge this over the 100k mark in your ownership then value will take a dive

Still worth a look I'd say
