Looking for a decent Low-Profile trolley jack & jack stands. Any tips?

I can thoroughly recommend a Halfords Advanced 3t low entry jack. It’s probably rather expensive but I received it as a present so don’t know how much it cost. It has a nice broad flat saddle, which will fit under a zed (mine’s on M sport suspension) with the jack pad on. It is very large and heavy, pictured next to an “ordinary” Halfords jack for comparison, but makes lifting the car a doddle and very stable.

I can also recommend having several jack pads, as you can use them on top of your jack stands under the jacking points.

P.s. on the jack in your picture (and my smaller jack), you don’t need to worry about the jack pad slipping as the weight of the car is enough to drive the metal “prongs” into the rubber.

Use it to lift the X6 and it fits under the Z4 as well. I also have one of those jacking pucks and the puck fits inside the saddle easily.

Cheers for that, if I can't find a cheaper solution may we take you up on it, as I said main think is the jack plug fits in the saddle.
Winter wheels and tyres are ordered, looking at 1-2 weeks before they arrive though.

Ok so I have purchased a jacking pad, perfect fit for the jacking point.
My trolley jack will go under the car but not with the jack pad, so I'm going to buy a low profile jack.
Question. The jack bad is 60cm in diameter and is bigger than the saddle on my current jack, i.e. it sits on it rather than "in" it as per the pic. Should I be looking for a low profile jack with a bigger saddle so the jack pad sits in it, or will the weight of the car ensure it won't move if sitting on top of the saddle?

I bought one of these (or similar, check your dimensions but it looks similar to mine). I use it in conjunction with the bmw point pad that you’ve just bought, obv it adds to the stack with both pads, but with my cheapy halford low pro jack it all goes under just fine, and gives a nice flat surface for the bmw slot pad.

As been pointed out you’ll likely be fine, but the rubber pad always stays on the jack and I have more confidence with it than the metal seat.

Don’t know how many times I’ve driven off with the slot pad still stuck in the car tho

That’s the same combo I have. I need to use the little jack to create enough height to get the big boy under the bumper (my car is on Eibachs).

SGS also for me, had my low profile jack over 10 years and still works well.
