Looking for 06-08 Coupe

Hi all,
I am currently looking for the above, at a price of around £12,000 or less. Ideally trade as i have my car to part ex.
I have been reading lots of the forum, so i wanted to check i have understood everything correctly.

Check rear springs for breakage, or check service history for springs being replaced. Also start engine from cold and listen for clicking/tapping. Full service history etc as well.

The cars i am finding in this price range have around 40,000-60,000 miles on the clock. What routine servicing may be up and coming around this sort of milage? Also what wear and tear items will be starting to wear now? I understand the servicing cycle, with inspection 2 being the most expensive, at around £300-400.

I ask because in the past every car i have had which has been 5-7 years old and 50-60,000 miles on the clock has started to need lot of worn out parts replaced, discs pads, bushes.

Anything i may have missed out, or any reading you suggest i do please point me in the right direction.

Many Thanks
Rich

there's this one near me, apparently they have just dropped a grand of it recently, but it looks like it may stick... saw it yesterday and it looks nice in the metal but didn't have a inspection just drive by..

Thanks, that's right at the top end of my budget so it would have to be perfect.

What were the optional extras with the coupe? As I know a lot of kit was standard?

there are a few 09 plate coupes but i suspect they will be out of your budget

Cheapest 58 plate Ive ever seen was £15k and thats only because he's miles out of the way and needed a quick sale.

For an 09 plate I think people will slap a high price tag, for 2 reasons. 1 its only 3 years old so 50% of the original value is a good price to get for one. Also as this was the last year of production people will hold onto higher prices..

In my price range are 06-07 really.

Decided I must have xenon lights, Bluetooth and sports heated seats.

Do sports seats come as standard on the sport rather than se?

Are you insistent on having a roof? You could get a lovely roadster for you budget

I'm afraid so on the roof. Car park at work is covered with trees, the constant tree sap and bird mess on a soft top would be soo annoying. I already have access to a convertible too. So can get that thrill when the weather is right

I'm liking the look at this one here. Are these xenon lights or not? The main been looks a shade of blue like xenon. I can't quite see on the dial if it has headlight level adjust

It has quite a few extras with it though it seems?

Xenon lights are a must for me. Had them on my last 3 cars, wouldn't go back

Have a hard think about an SE because they do tend to wield a lower re-sale value. It could have xenons but the only way to know for sure is to get the last 7 digits of the VIN and check with bmw / on the parts page.

PS the amarone seats are very nice and an additional extra (doubly so as they are sports seats). It would also appear to have the comfort pack (PDC / MFSW and possibly storage pack)

No heated seats.

Personally I'd say you can get much better spec Sports Coupe's at that price point..
