Looking at new purchase - anyone know these?

The silver one from Knights garage has had a few jobs done. Bits of paint. Few bits of mechanical work, generally getting up to standard. The chap who runs Knights (Russell) is very accommodating and has a Z3M coupe himself. True petrol head and a lover of all things ///M. Appeared to be a good un based on second hand info After a buddy went to see it twice, before and after the suggested work. It just didn't float my boat when buying mine

JAD, what were the 'few bits of mechanical work' that the car had done please, also what paint work was carried out

He's (my friend who viewed it twice) not come back on the mechanicals and I can't remember but;

"I had the back of the seats touched up where it had rubbed, the drivers seat bolster reattached as it had come loose. A chip at the front lower nearside lip sprayed and filled plus a scratch under the nearside door shaved and painted"

I think it was pretty minor stuff, but with the distance it just didn't work for me. Worth giving Russell a call. As said, he was a very accommodating chap.

I've been to view / test drive this car so if anyone is looking here is what I found.

The car is fairly basic spec with Bluetooth and a CD changer the only options.

Bodywork seems ok for a 2006 car that has done 51k miles. Front and rear bumpers have a few scuff marks but nothing too bad. The passenger door needs a realignment as it sticks out a bit.

Mechanically it all seems sound, I took it out for a good 30 mins and didn't hear anything bad (vanos rattles etc).

It's recently had Inspection II (Huddersfield BMW) but there are no historical documents / receipts to say if any other work has been done.

Unfortunately I forgot to check tyres, roof motor and brakes.

4 previous owners and 2 keys supplied.

The selling dealer gives a 6 month warranty but I'm not sure if it's any good.

And as dearest plonker is clearly reading this...!!!

"Tell Mike that it's had inspection 2, two near rear springs in the last 3 years, a new roof motor in the last two years and new rear discs and pads in the last month or two. The front discs are v good condition. All tyres match and have good tread. Previous owner used hardtop that was sold separately. His wife wanted a surprise divorce, hence he had to sell it back to Russell quickly. Downsides - not most popular colour and it does have a few owners, which may put some off. I also detected a slight squirm from the rear under heavy acceleration to the left. Wondered if that was a spring problem or known bush issues..."
