Looking at getting GR Yaris . Selling my Z4 coupe manual.

Hi, don’t know if you’ve seen this but Byron got as far as putting a deposit down and then withdrew after he had an extended test drive.

Lots of other views within the thread too

It's a totally different sort of car so you'd definitely want to get an extended drive in one.

I don't think I'd swap a 3.0Si for one, and definitely wouldn't consider one to replace my MC!

I started the referenced GR Yaris thread. I bought a Mini JCW in the end and am very happy with it. I never test drove the GR Yaris, though, as I decided I didn't want to spend that much on a third car. I was wary that the price would take a tumble - having just looked on AutoTrader, that hasn't happened yet. I wouldn't get one instead of my Z4 Coupe, but I am lucky enough to have a three car garage so :idunno: The thing that's currently most likely to get me out of my Z4 Coupe is the right spec Cayman S.

Even though I have yet to sell my MC I have been looking at possibly two totally different replacements. The GR Yaris as mentioned or the exige s3. A rally car and a race car. Both amazing both totally different.

One of my mates sold his heavily modified, circa 500bhp audi s3 saloon for a Yaris gr and has had it about 6 months now, and, in his opinion its one of the quickest cars a to b on twisty b roads.
Even though its way down on power from his audi.

Haven't driven his Yaris gr yet, but sounds like it drives well in the twisties.

As said, Byron (beedub) had a decent test drive of a Yaris Gr and didn't take to it, but then, he does have a very nice Supercharged M Roadster that he's owned for years so I can imagine that would take some beating, in feel, etc.

Certainly worth getting an extended, as long as possible, test drive in a Gr Yaris and make your own mind up on some b roads op  :driving:
Good luck with your choices, the Lotus exige's are very good to drive too, but I've only ever driven on a track and not a road, so you'd be best getting as many test drives in as possible, which you'll probably be planning anyway.
Happy hunting op :D

I think in two years time a 1st gen Yaris will be a decent buy but right now giddiness in the car is keeping prices high I can’t find a bad review

For me the exile is the way to go - I had a S2 Elise with the old MG engine with about 115bhp, never had so much fun in a car, feels like a go kart and not going to see many about, its probably one of only two cars I wish I had never sold.

The Yaris - would not do it for me at all.
