Looking advice about hood

Hey guys,

Hoping to get some advice regarding my 2006 Z4 hood. Yesterday, I gave my Z4 a good wash, including the hood, using a hood cleaner spray. The cleaner was applied, rubbed on gently with a cloth sponge and left for about 5 minutes before being rinsed off with a power hose. The next day after the hood had dried, it has left visible marks and slight discolouration which was not there before cleaning.
Has anyone else experienced this and if so, how to resolve the issue, if possible? I have attached images to show what I mean.

The discolouration isn't the spirally texture. The image mustn't have uploaded properly. Hopefully this is a better upload.

Ive had good results previously on similar looking black roof's (Z3 2xZ4s & a 3vert)
I use the AG kit but to the sealer I add 50% black liquid shoe polish :? spray on to saturation point spreading evenly with sponge & all should come good
I would probably clean the roof first with the green fleece side of the kitchen sponge thingys to try evening the patchy areas

you've still loads of moss/dirt on there by the looks of it too the green patches

looks like you've removed some but when rubbing it brought the rest up so it's still sitting there.

I can also approve mr wilk's approach to cleaning and colouring . I've done 3 cars this way ( after mr wilk's told me about it ) and all have turned out spot on .

If you use the Auto Glym kit then you get a handy special sponge in the kit that helps remove the dirty that's got into the fabric , I would advise you spend time cleaning the roof correctly and thoroughly before coating with the proofer and added liquid shoe polish . And when applying the proofer it's good to have a second pair of hands following you around to mop up any overspray or spills before they dry .

Did you manage to remove the white shiny looking marks that some roofs have from folding. I have cleaned and recoloured mine, it does look far better, however it still has white marks which I cannot seem to remove.

Yes I removed the annoying shiny patches before applying any colouring
Should they reappear whenever roof has been away just keep at them
To remove i worked at them with a green fleece & the hood cleaning solution until they faded out

Cheers mate will give it a go as my roof is looking a bit tired and the only thing really letting the car down..

Always have a load of those sponges in the cupboard under the sink but would never have thought to take one to the Z

They work wonders on shiny leather seats & steering wheels as well oh yea they do :roll:
Very gently of course use a solution of swarfega green ,leather cleaner & leather cream mixed together :wink: leaves them looking + feeling great
Steering wheel after 124k miles was cleaned off
