Any experts out there? I own a Nikon D80 and I am looking but am not willing to spend top dollar for this. Anyone purchased one and what criteria was used in the decision process?

i guess i'm too late. I have the SB-800. I looked at both and the 800 has been fine for me. here's a link to compare the two, which i'm sure you've already done.

I got mine at a serious discount. Yeah, I wanted the 800 but the price difference was too much to justify.

Gotta go, my wife is coming into my office.......<scamper>

I ordered a Sto Fen diffuser so when I take portrait pics etc., the peeps look pretty.
