Look what I was parked next to today!

I'm not saying all Japanese cars look bad, i'm an ex-s2000 and ex Subaru owner and i loved them both. I just think that some are way over the top when the tuners get a hold of them. I don't like the crazy stickers and logos down the door thing. It's just a bit sad.

I was told the term "jap" is a derogatory term and really shouldn't be used in polite conversation.

I don't see Jap as being derogatory - I certainly never mean it to be so if i use it to refer to japanese cars.

'Paki' is derogatory because scum started using in a derogatory manner.

But I equate Jap to being much like Scot as a shortening of Scottish.

If thats what you think thats your business. But rest assured the word "Jap" is a derogatory term. Nuff said.

Don`t be so silly. The world is mad, one word in a ryhme becomes derogatory? Jap Crap is Jap Crap because it ryhmes, it wouldn`t be the same as 'Japanese Crap'. There is nothing derogatory about it. However, one wouldn`t walk up to someone who is Japanese and call them a 'Jap' - that would maybe be derogatory. There is a difference.

Crikey I think the 'Brit Awards' should be banned.

This a what a parking space should be like Silverstone car park.

Re the term Jap this is no worse than saying Brit or Yank its not meant as an insult just the British habit of shortening words and names.

Re Jap cars nothing wrong with them they make some lovely cars when i first decided to get a new car i was looking at a Supra TT but later decided to go Z4 a great decision but still think a nice unmolested origonal black Supra TT looks great also like the S2000 and NSX plus a few others.

X2. Very non-PC.

It is certainly interesting to note that term being derogatory in one country yet not considered in another.

BTW, I'm hot Japanese (if in case anyone was thinking...)
