Look what I was parked next to today!

wonder how long it will be before the Police start asking for this after a crash

6. Data Recorders

The Nissan GT-R is equipped with a Vehicle Status Data Recorder which is capable of recording the vehicle's operating conditions and monitoring component replacement or reprogramming and may be used to perform and administer warranty repairs. Other vehicle operational information may be logged in the Electronic Control Module and the Transmission Control Module which may also be accessed during investigations into component failure and in performing and administering warranty repairs. Additionally, the Nissan GT-R is equipped with an Event Data Recorder which records crash data in the event of a crash.

Cops have been using the black boxes as evidence for a long time. Our BMW's have that too. Pretty much all cars have it nowadays.

I really like and admire the GTI-R. It's such a clever car, why the hell are all other Nissan's so p*ss poor?. I'd love one, but with any very high performance car, you need deep-ish pockets keep it on the road. It is going to be highly strung, so expect maintenance to be very specific and costly, it's not a Micra after all. Japanese cars are generally pretty ugly, they have never got the styling right for the western world, but I think this one is right on the money, a racing car for the road. If you want style, buy an Aston. :D

"p*ss poor"?

"Jap Crap" is a derogatory stereotype description given to pretty much any Japanese performance car, or so I believe from my time spent owning a Civic Type R...

On the taking up of two spaces in an empty car park- while no one will argue that it harms anyone, the fact that the car park is empty and the driver STILL takes up two spaces (when there's no threat of being dinged) is probably enough to provoke the type of moron that goes around vandalising nice cars.

If the car park is empty, it doesnt matter if you take up two spaces then ! . i have parked in an empty car park before and still had some idiot parking next to me. Once people start respecting other peoples property i will stop doing it, and maybe stop parking in parent & child spaces which are my favourite by the way.. :D

Mine too

I think all normal parking spaces should be as big as parent and child one's to be honest. Then there wouldn't be so many scratches and dents from careless idiots.

Wow, the GTR has certainly created a buzz here! It's all a personal thing of course and there will always be those who love it and those who hate it. I don't remember many provoking such a reaction though.

Personally, i think it would look better with no rear spoiler, or a trick Porsche style one that comes up at speed. It certainly looks dramatic but reminds me a little of the Subaru driven by Jackie Chan in The Cannonball Run, I wonder if it has a jet booster thingy installed?!!?
(are that what those exhausts are realy for?)

Would maybe have looked a little better with an MC parked next to it :poke:

I was told the term "jap" is a derogatory term and really shouldn't be used in polite conversation.

Never had a high performance Japanese car, but I loved my Ford Probe GT (Mazda MX-6 drivetrain). Ford's styling was much better than Mazda's. IF I could afford a supercar, I guess I wouldn't mind the restrictions, but are they trying to convince those well-heeled enough to buy those by making it seem like only the most astute can possibly own/drive one?

^^ ew, ew, & ew.

Would love a go in a GTR though. It's no Veyron, but god does it deserve respect.

I don't see Jap as being derogatory - I certainly never mean it to be so if i use it to refer to japanese cars.

'Paki' is derogatory because scum started using in a derogatory manner.

But I equate Jap to being much like Scot as a shortening of Scottish.

You people must not know your jap cars well then. :P

Its a TRD 2000GT!! Theres 2 maybe 3 in the country and was based on a race car. Did you miss the 500bhp part?

The Mk1 is one of a kind twin charger based around the 4age engine,i dont think theres another in the whole world show some respect people.

Ok , Ok, Apart from the Z cars, most japanese cars are not easy on the eye. Even the Skyline's despite being incredible machines, were not nice to look at. Take the last model MR2, what were Toyota thinking of!! And before I get slagged off here, I work for a Japanese Car manufacturer!!!!I did like the last Celica, the last Supra, and the 300ZX, but that's it.Japanese run of the mill "cooking" cars are not great to look at. :D

I reckon these are all good looking Jap cars - but as with everything it's personal preference...

- S2000
- RX7
- Integra (DC2 & DC5)
- NSX Type-R
- 240Z / 350Z / 370Z
- Supra
- Skyline
- GTR
