My girlfriend had too many chickens and needed to thin out her flock so I took 8 of them. All Bantams, 3 roosters and 5 hens. One rooster is a Frizzle and two of the hens are Japanese Bantams. I'm hoping these will breed and I will have some gorgeous chicks. Aren't they just adorable?! :D I can't wait for babies :dance2:

 ..you're cute ducks! It's not as prevalent here in the States and particularly less so with very small, private flocks. I've have stock and fowl my whole life. Don't worry, I know what I'm doing

I agree. So when is the chicken fry?

Don't think I'm beyond..I rang two rooters this afternoon because they were overpowering my Frizzle...they're in the freezer now  ..I'm now down to 5 hens and 1 rooster. There can't be but one HMFIC!

Is that something you enjoy? To each his own

My parents have been losing chickens to the local raccoon population. My dad trapped and relocated a 40 pounder the other day, thing was huge! They've also got some of those fuzzy footed chickens.

Yal, of course I don't enjoy it and if there are other people around that will do it, I won't. It's just part of being responsible. If I kept all three cocks, they'd not only kill each other but the hens as well. Proper culling is all it is; painless and quick, but I won't say I like it :|. I had to watch all three periodically throughout the day and pick the gentlest one that would make the sweetest babies. Ever been spurred by a mean cock? OUCH!!! :pinch:
