20190217_170237.jpgThought I’d better introduce myself as I have come on here to nose whilst at work since more or less I got the car!

Had wanted a convertible as a second car for a while and a few years ago a 2.5 popped up when I wasn’t really looking for one, but it was a too good a deal so I grabbed it.

Firstly I never really got on with the headlights, so I bought some LHD Dectane/Sonar (the only ones you can get with CCFL rather than LED) which most people hate lol. Pretty major job to convert them, it took a fair bit of ingenuity and I’m not sure I’d want to do it again tbh. Changed the silly marker lights at the top into indicators and put LED bulbs into everything bar the brake/tail lights. Sourced a clear fog RH rear light unit to balance the back end, clear repeaters and clear brake light as the red one had cracked, surprise, surprise. Finally put in Xenon 4700k bulbs and that was that.

Then I coded everything in with NCS, hood, windows, full brake lights, etc. Removed CDV, changed the wheels to style 230s, fitted coilovers and renewed everything, bushes, wishbones etc, fitted drilled discs, painted calipers, carbon wrapped the dash, got rid of the not so great head unit and fitted a Kenwood DAB which can colour match perfectly the other dash lights and be controlled by the steering wheel (I know it’s not to everybody’s taste, but function over form for me), fitted DAB aerial which looks identical to the original, fitted 6x9s to cubbys and used the boxes to make covers with some speaker cloth, Alpine amp beside the battery, changed fronts and finally fitted one of those rubber splitters to the front bumper. Oh, and the exhaust.

Engine wise pretty much everything has been off at some point, cleaned, tinkered with and/or replaced.

I think that’s it, but there may be other little things I have forgot.

A fair bit of effort there. and well worth it by the look of your Zed. 8) Welcome on board.

Hi and welcome - lovely looking Z4 you have there.

The carbon-look trim on the interior is really smart, you've got heated M-Sport seats and some great wheels too - that looks like a good find.
