Longevity of the Z4

I own a 2003 Z4 which has about 67,000 miles. How many more miles do you think I will get out of it before I start having major troubles? I am the original owner and have kept up with all the services for it with BMW. I also bought both maintenance and extended warranty for it. It's all paid off and I really like it but just wondering how long until it starts to become a problem car?

There are a few members on this board who I think are hitting the 6 figures in mileage with no big problems

Many of them are well into 6 figures! Right Rick and Bob?
Remembering back to the HC dinner Rick's Z was on 187000 miles... :o 8)

(Edit) Also there was a Z3 on 300000+...

I have 129k miles on mine ( I will never catch up with Rick ). I have not had major issues with the car to date. I have replaced the throttle body at 101k , a DISA valve at 118k, there is also a plastic coupling tube from the throttle body to the intake that was replaced due to cracking ( common issue ), all effected the way the car ran. I did also replace trans and diff fluid as preventive measures ( I have the steptronic ). The normal things brakes, rotors, tires, oil, plugs, filters, ect. I have been happy with the car. You must expect to replace a few things IMHO.

While on our cross country trip to HC I was averaging between 30 and 34 MPG. The car runs like a champ. Some of the people here can verify the way the car runs ( they try to keep up with me in the curves ) . It might be all driver though.

IMHO, I would look for an independent service company in your area for your service. You will save yourself over 50 percent on most services.

I have not done a vanos rebuild as yet. It is next on my list.

Where do you call home?

What turns? I did not see any turns on that trip IMZ4N! :D Your car kept up just fine, however I am still amazed your mileage was so much better than mine in the 3!

BMW is great at upping displacement and power and gas mileage at the same time. My Z4 with the 3.0Si gets the same mileage as my 325Ci and I have 70 more horsepower than before! (and the 325 only weighed about 100 pounds more than the Z4 coupe)

The girl back to her old self yet? I assume the dealer did a good job on the repair.

yep, my baby is all new again, totally new front end! no more rock dings! Found the Z4 registered 1/4 tank more than the Z3 did. We filled up at same time and used nearly same amount of gas
