Paulj100, I can thoroughly see you point in wanting to keep a car like the TT in great condition for the future. I love it when you now see something like a Ford Capri in immaculate condition when they were common in their day
From experience I would strongly advise against washing your car immediately before putting it into storage. Instead, wash the car and let it air dry for a couple of days, then take it for a run to get it properly warmed up and use all the switch gear, heating, AC etc .windows and wipers and then immediately park the car in its storage position. Make sure you leave the handbrake OFF. Make sure you put some rubber treatment onto all the window seals and other rubber parts.
Personally, I wouldn't plan on not using the car for 15 years, instead I'd make the effort to take the car for a run on occasion when its dry and there's no salt on the road, so that the lubricants etc get to cover all the components they supposed to protect. I know this means having insurance and tax, but IMO it'll be cheaper in the long term.
