2011 sDrive35i AlpineWhite- Purchased 11/13 with 19K miles.

Howdy from S.East Texas!

Transitioning from a lightly moded '00 6speed C5 Corvette w/140K miles to this dual clutch automatic Z4. Have put about 2K on car since purchase and still getting used to all aspects - a very significant, but cool, change from the vette!

To business:
My local Firestone dealer (also read Bridgestone), discovered 19" RR rim cracked, (in two places-A
UGGH!), when I stopped in yesterday to have a new persistent air leak checked.
I am aware that this problem is not new to BMW or E89 Z4 owners. What I'd like to know\have help with is how to approach my local BMW dealer so as to have the wheel replaced under warranty. Is is a straight-forward " limp in-they replace it no charge and I drive away happy" or do they make me jump through hoops, yell and stamp my cowboy boot to get a warranty replacement. I have no knowledge base with these people and I understand dealerships vary, but has a factory standard been established for this problem?

Thank you in advance for y'alls help.

Hi and welcome to the Forum

Nice Zed but before anyone else tells you - photographs please...!

Had problems on my wives 3 series recently with wheels but that was corrosion, now on the second set under warranty and dealer was very helpful. Cracks perhaps a different issue and lots on here if you search. BMW will try and suggest this was a driver fault - kerbing etc. Go in gently and see what they say - 2011 vehicle and your are well out of warranty I think (unless purchased with a BMW warranty from a stealer in 11/13) so you may be lucky.

Yay! Not only is there finally another US member but another one is finally in texas too! Howdy strider northeast houston over here! 8) :driving: I haven't to much experience with a dealership but just get quotes if they can't do it for free and shop around.

Best of luck partner.
