London Tunnel Run - Lost Without Cause

oh i see i see, well id save myself £2 and not get the map because i cant drive and map read simultaneously
and even if i did i would still be lost cos i dont know anything about london....
i'd prob be interested in seeing all the cars parked up etc and chatting to ppl
less keen on driving through london...not really driving roads imho...

It looks like the 2 quid goes to charity, children's hospice. You could bring a co-pilot to read the map. Or just follow someone!

True I still think it will be a good night though

Does this go through or end at the graphitti tunnel at waterloo by any chance? Because they would be a good place to go for photos etc.

Also who on here is actually going? It would be good to all meet somewhere else a bit earlier and then convoy to the meeting point, that way all the z4's can stay together and more chance of staying together through the city

Im thinking about it....and yes good idea regarding an earlier z4 only meet....
I dont want to be stuck between two lowered 318 coupes with teens shouting "brrraaaaappppp" at every person on the pavement thinking they are the mac daddy :P
so maybe a z4 exclusive part would be cool

Yea I think that would be best,

Well from how I understand it, you get the map then you make your own way between places on the map for the meets

So we could effectively just be z's all the way

I did that thru the guildford tunnel in 3rd gear....35-65, slammed foot down (couldve done it in 2nd) and the mrs' head gets flung back and she hits her head on the headrest and complained for the rest of the journey....great fun

liking the idea of the z4 cruise....

Yeah we could do, maybe at somewhere closer to the event, not on the worn part of London....I'd think Bing would know that part better than I do....

Sounds like a good plan, but I think if I read the post correctly the final destination or main event is a secret lol

We could always meet somewhere near the start point and make our own way across London picking up others as we go? Then finish at the final destination

glad to see the amount of interest from you Z4 bunch :)

as a few discrepencies have been mentioned i thought i'd clarify.

the meet locations (A or B) are where the maps are handed out - these maps show all the locations/milestones and tunnels which everyone will be passing through. The map costs £2 and this is given straight to charity, this can be paid by cash, or via our JustGiving text number but must be in front of a representitve/staff member to count, so dont just say you've paid as we will have to witness the process for it to count.

All locations other than the start points are a secret, and various happenings will be happening at the milestones such as raffles/competitions/show n' shine/photoshoots/mag attendence/ etc... so be wary about this when scooting off, all times from and when at each milestones will of course be present on the map, the rest is of course down to yourselves on how you get there, we have however chosen the best route, and i believe are also placing the speed camera locations (if applicable) there also, just to make things easier on yourselves when giving it the 'boot'.

Any questions, dont hesitate to ask.

Many Thanks,
Simon

Jees this is SO well organised, well done Simon

Glad you think so, theres a team of us hard at work on this one, hoping to not only create something for the BMW community, but to also show the public (hopefully with our newspaper + mag attendance) that not all car enthusiasts should be tainted with the same brush that 17year old boy racers with 2tonne body kits are. We're not all alike, and after many writeups of recent including that with the dispersal order placed on Lakeside, banning from bluewater meets, we thought it time to show that we are different, we are not the same, and simply we are a bunch that enjoy our cars, enjoy the socialism involved.. and also a good night out ;)

So yes, we've gone full out on this one, with a great deal of cost to ourselves which isnt being recouped in any way, we are simply giving, and the pennies earnt on the night are being given to our charity just to show that we are all human, and are not here to take take take.

We see it as knocking 3 birds with one stone.. doing something for charity, changing the public view, and having a good night. This wont be the last Tunnel run, in fact the first of a few. There are already plans being made for the follow up in spring - one to really watch out for - it boasts a theme which is sure to keep everyone entertained, and again, raise money with our paired charity 'Demelza Childrens Hospice'. Again to remember, everything is above board with our events, we dont just turn up to locations without prior agreement, everything is fully arranged, discussed and agreed. So you have no fear of being kicked or having the night disrupted. All legal :)

Be sure to stay fully up to date with our BMW community, we are a group for clubs, and people, we're not here to take members from clubs, instead we are here to bring clubs together and enjoy the things we all love, and thats the socialism, and passion for the motors we love. For more information dont hesitate to visit http://www.facebook.com/bmwoc - we'll keep you all up to date on here of course, and we look forward to meeting with the Z4 community ;)

Many thanks
Simon
