London Out Of Control

Funny (for want of a better expression) watching the reaction by some of the locals to the events unfolding in the UK whilst over the here US, I'm being asked 'If that guy getting shot by the Police kicked it all off' when I reply 'It looks like it' all I hear is 'Sh1t man happens here all the time, some asshole being shot by the Police that is' generally followed by why don't we send in the National Guard. I then have to explain we don't have a National Guard and if we did go in to hard, the Scum would take the Authoritys to the European Court of Human Rights and win huge paymouts, this is usually met by lots of headshaking.
Makes one proud. :headbang:

My thoughts and best wishes (for what they are worth) to anyone unintentially caught up in it all.

And for my final two penneth:- if you break the law, you choose to say that the law doesn't apply to you - then it doesn't apply to protect you - you shouldn't have it both ways!! Nothing is too strong a punishment for what we're seeing at the moment!

Its the police and other emergency services I really feel for - they are just normal human beings performing heroically in abominable circumstances - and yet what does the press do...criticise criticise criticise - also sickening.

The waste of space perpetrators of these heinous crimes deserve to rot

That's well shocking.... I work in Ireland and my colleages here say if that happened here the garde would use rubber bullets/ tear gas.... The problem I see though as that I'd say the majority are minors can you imagine the outcry if the police harmed a child?

That's what sparked the Athens riots in 2008. Police shot and killed a minor under circumstances which are still unclear... The latest round of riots in Greece, as recent as last month, were due to austerity measures to save the sunk Greek economy.

If another death should occur in London caused directly or indirectly by the authorities you can be sure that the backlash would be far, far worse than the riots now.
Yeah, fair comments..but the rioters/looters are just using what happened as an excuse, and the guy shot was apparently a known crim. either way,no reason for mindless destruction, etc

I can't sleep at the moment. Helicopters above me and sirens around me. I'm 1/4 of a mile from the Sony Distribution Centre that is ablaze in Enfield.
I live on a private estate and the Sony Centre is on the Innova Business Park in Enfield Lock.
My neighbour knocked on my door shortly after midnight to tell me what was going on. Went to the end of the road where there was about 20 neighbours gathered watching the fire above the rooftops.. A lot of distressed people obviously concerned (if you've seen the footage on TV you'll understand why). We didn't expect to find this on our doorstep. Whilst chatting there was at least a dozen chavmobiles entering the estate looking for a route through to the Innova Park. :x
I felt sick after seeing what was going on across the country tonight prior to this. Feel twice as bad now. :(

Hope everyone else is safe and hope that we're back to normality soon.

Hope u and urs are all safe,as with any1 else living near this..given its spreading to Liverpool/Manchester/Birmingham,etc.

Total mindless destruction..these ppl dont give a sht about other ppls property/livliehoods,etc. like the Reeves furniture busns thats now ruined, and do they think Sony will come back in to rebuild the dist centre??=possibly more jobs lost :headbang: :headbang:

Hope they get a grip soon;send in Water cannons, rubber bullets,or ARMY,bring back troops from abroad if need be!!

And this is what we want more of.

Insurance companies now face massive claims because of the riots. All kinds of insurance premium will go up again when we renew the policies. :(

Perhaps we should take a note of how the French deal with this: Any immigrant, no matter whether born in the country or not, is sent back to country of origin after committing a crime. As 90% or so look to be immigrants, that would sort out the majority of the problem.

Apart from the pretty scary news there are some pretty scary posts in this thread too! The full range of shooting people, marshal law, rivers of blood speech and sending immigrants home.

So anyone with non White skin? So the polish, the pasty skinned, the White jamaicans, the non tanned can all stay? I take it when you say....'look to be immigrants' refers to skin colour only?

I have some right wing views, but what you said is a little bit scary. If you said that extends to all non uk citizens, whether black or White, then that's another matter.

You could take it one step further and send back anyone who's bloodline isn't 100% English too, or are the scots, welsh and Irish all allowed to stay too, as long as they are White?

i got a twitter feed last night saying that people were patrolling the streets with baseball bats down Enfield.... no doubt if they harmed a looter the law would come down on the vigilante pretty hard :x

Also Amazon reported a 5000% increase in the sale of baseball bats.. which presumably were bought by people so fed up about the situation they wanted to do something about it themselves - as the scum/looters are using bricks and would steal them and not buy them!

Such a post incites racism by the way.....

And when you say..perhaps 'we' should.......does that mean White people? Or are black, Chinese, Asians etc allowed to have a say too?

We = UK and I am referring to anyone who is proven to be a criminal no matter from which nation they descend.

But PVR you said as 90% look to be immigrants, what were you referring to? Their dress sense?

Implementing French laws on immigration might not be the greatest idea, they don't exactly have a harmonious relationship with the Maghrebs. Besides, you might get deported back to Holland for something trivial like speeding!

Look does not have to be visual. "Look" as in "appear".

Pick up any newspaper and the analysis is based on the issue of immigration:

"Many argue this section among the immigrant population in Britain has particularly faced a situation where people do not have enough economic capital to pass on to future generations.

Couple that with the attendant feeling of being left out in the consumerist culture, exacerbated due to the economic downturn, still being largely the subject of police attention, and enough commentators will aver that the riots weren't really a surprise.

There has been much looting and rank hooliganism during these riots. But what these events underline is the big debate about immigration and multiculturalism in Europe. Clearly, faultlines exist over the contentious issues of integration and assimilation. Britain has in many ways been at the centre of that debate, with more progress to show, relatively, on that count than most western nations. "

So what about the protestors in Manchester, who are mainly White Jeremy Kyle watching idiots....are they ok? Are they ok to stay? Because they are White?

Would you like the number for the BNP? Does your quote of the times really qualify your previous post?
