London - my love hate relationship

One of the great cities of the world to visit and I will even say my favorite but I have no desire to live in any large city...

Nice pics Ruby. We've been over to the smoke this evening for a night out in Leicester Square. Gotta say as a Northerner living in the south I do like London.

I love london :) Life without a bit of edge and grime is boring. I get the shakes thinking about living in the sticks :D

Im always doing early starts so love the sights of sunrises across the city. I drive down through Highgate and get the full skyline view, very impressive 8)

I'm a bit love/hate with London too.

A few weeks ago I had a really nice Thames boat ride from Parliament to Greenwich with some visiting Aussie cousins. Sunny and hot. Then had a terrible time fighting my way through crowds later to get home.

Oh....typing this from my balcony at the KC Resort and over water villas in Koh Samui...nice view and London a long way away :)

Lucky you! Have a great holiday!

Nice photos Ruby.

Speaking as someone that lived and worked in London for years and years I have to say I'd reached the point that I was taking much of it for granted.

Now that I live in Oz I only get to see London occasionally, and as a result I love it all over again every time I visit.

We'll be staying in Knightsbridge for 4 nights in January and I can't wait to take my kids to some of the best museums you'll find anywhere in the world :-) Mrs L is looking forward to some great Selfridges and Harvey Nichols sale shopping too :-(

No queue to get in Skylon? :)

I've actually never experienced queues to get into Skylon and always even got a table in the bar at the window overlooking the Thames. Maybe I've just been lucky. I think its one of those places thats actually quite hidden as you have to walk into the Royal Festival Hall to get in it.

Aways look around me when crossing any London bridge. The scene always makes me feel as though Im in a truly special place. I was in Greenwich last night looking west down the river and esst to the O2 as the sun set. I have to say, as a former country boy there are also times when I simply adore living in London - south of course

Cool pictures Ruby

London definitely has its moments.

I think you need to stay here a while to 'get' it... when I first moved down I hated it for about 6 months, then just got used to it and now love it.

I was in London on Thursday night. I went to a gig in Brixton. Walking around at night was cool, but the best thing was when I drove out along embankment at about 06:30. Fairly quiet and a lovely sunrise. It was awesome!

Life would be dull if we all liked the same things , a total contrast to the big city for me yesterday .
met up with some friends at a country pub in the trough of bowland , 3,30pm fires going , walkers coming in ready for some rejuvenating food & drink but the highlight for me was the local estates shooters & beaters in their plus fours & barbours coming in with exhausted dogs . i felt like i was on a film set for downton abbey :)
great day

Lovely photos.

Shame you couldnt have snuck in your Z4 for the photo comp
