London Meet - 27/02/2011

I'm a possible........but slightly concerned about being the only 2.0i and finding and MR in my boot!

Can someone confirm starting location and time, I browsed back a few pages and got bored..... 8)

For PVR's benefit, can you please move me to the Confirmed list :D

DavidB, sorry we missed you at the Sunday Service. Are you getting a big forum sticker for this meet?

9.30 for 10.00 am start. Berry Chiswick on the A4 half a mile from Chiswick Roundabout, going towards Heathrow :driving:

It's confirmed, i will be in the UK then and i've arranged with High Command to be given leave on that day.

Now, how do i get there?? I'll be down in Portsmouth.

From Portsmouth, come right up the M3, all the way to the M25, then come off at the M4 London bound - as you come past heathrow, the M4 turns into the A4, come off at the slip road that says North/South Circular road - as you come off you will come up to Chiswick roundabout, go all the way round as if going back on yourself, and Berry Chiswick is up on your left about half a mile away......

You're welcome to hop in with me if you want? I'm in Reading. About an hour train from Portsmouth. I take it you won't be driving (rental or otherwise)?

Nickm, Thanks mate but i wont have a car!

playalistic, I'll take it! Which station in Reading?

It's just Reading station. The main one in the middle of Reading town, not Reading West! We can finalise the details nearer the time but I'll most likely need to pick you up at about 9AM on the morning which shouldn't mean too early a start for you to set off from Portsmouth! Although I've just had a look at the journey planner and it looks to be around 2 hours from Portsmouth.

No biggy. To be fair it will take us no more than 40 mins to get to the meet point from Reading station.

Yeah, we can definitely sort something out. Even if not hitting London at the right time, we / you guys would be able to intercept - they'll be easy to spot... formed into an orderly queue behind Nickm, too polite to overtake

Actually, Ben, may be best if you don't get too far into London, a bumpkin like yourself is likely to be overwhelmed by it all!

I'm bringing the tractor or the combine harvester, you'll have to keep the speeds down for me

Just bring your frickin passports, and as you're coming from the coast, make sure you change your clothes, you stowaways always look such a mess!

Ben don't you mean 1hr 40 mins (just by the way you drive and beneath your Z4M, is really a Gee Wiz electric car).....

To be fair to Ben that is some classy bodykit on his geewiz...you'd never know until you saw it "moving" ;)

Ooooh handbags! 200 miles on a single charge and I don't pay congestion charge. Not that I can get into the city much, get a bit nervous being around tall buildings seeing as most of my days are spent on the grange

Anyway, Lord Nick I'd still beat yours in a drag race seeing as though you have to factor in the quik detailing stops every 100 yards

Berry Chiswick has MOVED... It's no longer by Chiswick Roundabout. I've put the address on the first post.

The address I have put is for where they do the servicing.

Peddy - how did you save the route in Google Maps. I'm creating some routes of my own byt it wont let me send to my GPS, only email. When I click on your map it lets me send to my GPS though?! Any ideas?

its half a mile away from the roundabout - it hasn't moved in 3 years.....I mean the Berry by Gillete Corner, near the Homebase......
