Locking your car - questions

Actually i stand corrected (hopefully), as the manual says "the footwells on drivers and passengers sides as well as the seats are monitered" so it must have something then. When i was reading i kept reading about adding motion detectors, and that the Z4 did not come with them :?

Weird and will try tomorrow :D

looks like it's at the rear of the centre console, god know how it works though

Umm so it is there then. Perhaps the US never got it then, or some never came with it

US alarm wasn't standard equipment where as it was for us, but they did get pre wired bluetooth to make retofitting easier where we have bugger all to name 2 variations.

Swings and roundabouts.

Just an FYI for anyone. If you have a red light under your mirror it doesn't mean your car has an alarm. If you don't have a motion sensor which comes with the alarm set up then either the person that installed the alarm didn't put that part in or it doesn't have an alarm. If you can't turn a beep on then it doesn't have an alarm. The cars all come with anti-theft locking doors, lights, immobilizers etc.. all the alarm does is add some sensors for the horn to honk if the wind blows too hard :P... I just got through talking to BMW about this the other day.

Yeah its ambient lighting to be precise

Not strictly correct......

Ambient Lighting - light that comes from all directions. Contrast with "directional lighting," which is made up of a light source with parallel light rays that do not diminish with distance. Also, contrast with "positional lighting," in which the rays are not parallel, but diminish in intensity from the source.

So perhaps we are talking about 'positionaL lighting'. :poke:
