Locking My Car

Hi, i just noticed today that when i lock my car, the lights do not flash anymore... it was working a few days ago as i wasn't sure if my car was locked or not in my drive way so i just looked out the window while i pressed the lock button and all of the lights on the car flashed.

I was reading a post yesterday (Keyfob Hood Lowering - http://www.z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=15652) and some people were mentioning that 03 Z4's had this option built in... so i went outside and held my unlock button down for 5+ seconds to see if it would work, in which it did not.

I thought today that this might have disabled the lights flashing when i locked the car so i tried holding the same button down again for 5+ seconds and i also tried this on the unlock button but i still have the same problem...

Has anyone any suggestions... thanks in advance
 
Think you will find the lights only flash when you lock the car, if you press the button to check I dont think they will flash again
 
Hi, thanks for the reply... i know they only flash when you lock the car but they don't on mine anymore. If my car is unlocked and then i lock it, no lights flash... any idea what this could be...
 
Mine used to do it, & now doesn't - it's usually a coding thing.

There's no reason it should have changed on yours tho unless your DME has reset, but you should have noticed other irregularities if so. Eg - I can't now unlock my boot without the car being unlocked first. :headbang:
 
Ok thanks, could i have reset it from holding down the buttons on my remote for 10 seconds plus...
 
The lights have just started flashing again now... :headbang: what could have been the problem...

could it have been water leaking in somewhere etc as i have heard of water causing stoppages before, thanks in advance
