Just a heads up my just out of warranty, 3.0i 2020, has a fault where the locking mechanism won’t allow the fuel flap to open. Have called out BMW assistance who were unable to pop it with a small airbag and there is no manual option.
Now with dealer, turns out there is a known issue mainly with electric vehicles, this is a first on a Z according to dealer and assistance guy. No spare parts available atm likely that it is a problem with the solenoid.
To top it all meant to start European road trip on Saturday!

but happened on a Vauxhall Zafira, only 3 years old. The garage removed the solenoid, didn’t lock the cap anymore but the worry was gone
