Going to reinstall my dash cam using the ignition switched supply by tapping into the rain sensor live. Question is does this stay live if the winscreen wipers are turned on ie over riding the sensor? :thumbsup:

I was under the impression that the sensor was rain and light sensor (RLS) for auto lights as well so would still need a live. I'd guess the live feed stays live for the sensor but the module ignores the signal once the wipers are activated manually, as there would more complexity involved in a module activating/de-activating a live feed.

Looks like the violet/white in the thinner loom in the mirror is the live that's switched when the ignition is ON

I would just tap in to the fuse box , it doesn't take long to route the cable round and down and the rain sensor cables are quite thin.

+1, This is what I did for my front/rear camera, plus added a Lukas box so it has voltage monitoring for "parking mode" surveillance for up to 36 hours.
