Based on your signature I'm assuming your car is a 2003 3.0i? If so the engine is an M54 and therefore you can rule out Valvetronic motor as you don't have one!
Plugs and Coils as previously mentioned would be easy to check.. but expensive to change if not the issue so be sure on that one!
Vanos Solenoids or vanos unit itself, but have little experience of Vanos on the M54 engine. New solenoids solved a stutter on my 3.0si N52 engine...
A few things that are free/cheap to check...
You could try cleaning the MAF, it gets dirty over time and and would give you acceleration stutters as the car doesn't know how much air is getting in?
Look for any leaks in the air intake system, there may be a small hole that seals after it gets to temperature?
DSC may cause that issue, it will limit power when sensing slippage but doesn't always light up the dash... try switching it off when cold and see if the stutter remains?
Outside of that the DMTL code would imply a fuel delivery system issue, put some injector cleaner through it and see if you get any improvement, or even some spray through intake cleaner, there's plenty of choice in your local halfords/Auto factors.... might be worth a try before paying an Indy to diagnose it!
