Litres Per 100 Clock

Hi, i just done a quick search and i am surprised i did not find any threads on the above... is it possible to change the "Litres Per 100" to read "MPG" on a 2008 Coupe, thanks in advance
 
Yeah, i was thinking the same... do you reckon it could be changed, not the speedo, just the clock...
 
Sure can.

Hold down the OBC button on your wiper stalk for around 5-10 seconds and it will change over to MPG.

Holding down the OBC button for a few seconds on the different functions do different things:

- switch between MPG to L/100km
- switch clock between AM/PM and 24-hour time
- reset average-speed to ---- (recalculate)
- reset average fuel consumption to ---- (recalculate)

If you have a navigation computer then these settings can also be changed in the Settings menu, which configures both the Navigation and the little screen under your speedometer.
 
Cool... can't wait to try this this evening... just out of curiosity... are these instructions / guidelines in the manual
 
I tried the above... the 24 hour clock worked but the main function that I wanted l/100 to mpg does not work :(
 
That's strange, I wonder if it changed in later years, or if it only changes for me because I have navigation (which includes the option to change to MPG). If not, then the only way to change it would be with the dealer or an independent that can program the cluster (GT1 device or similar).

I actually switch back and forth between L/100km and MPG quite often since I'm used to seeing L/100km from my other BMW's but like to compare with what the MPG numbers are since that's whats reported on most websites.

I wish we had a 'live' MPG readout like every other bimmer.
