Lip up fatty....

Now that’s what I call a lip... :o

Guy is lucky to get away with this, I’ve had fronts collapse on a 986 Boxster a friend wanted me to try to identify a gear selection problem on and it ain’t funny. Why would you let your brakes get to this state, they’re on an E46, I know they’re rears but bloody hell....

That's bad. I take it that it was a track car and never seen an MOT for a while.
Just thinking that due to the AP caliper and the stud conversion.
 
I wonder if the front pad was binding as the rear of the disc is much thicker. As above....bet it was a track day car.

Pretty sure it would. As nitrix said above its just worn close to the wear limit indicator. So yes he got good use out of them but nothing illegal/dangerous.

Yeah it's handy to see you need to change your discs when there's a chunk missing, ingenious. mot man would be fine with that, there must be at least a mm there!
