If non-canbus ones work they're stupid cheap from amazon.

Also I'd personally go for 55w

What colour temp are you planning? 6000k?
 
I prefer 5000k as it's a nice bright white. Some 6000k hid kit are too blue and look chavy IMO

I've got the hid direct kit and very happy with them!
 
I got a set from ebay for the wifes fiesta... £25 with slimline canbus ballast. 5k colour not too be too blue.

I honestly dont know why people pay the extortionate hid direct prices.

Got the same kit with 35w input and 5000k bulbs and works a treat with no errors and the ballast are slim enough to fit in the light unit.

I did a small write up ages ago after fitting mine and a debate started about 35W kits Vs 55W kits and from guys who knew electronics, the overall consensus was go for a 35w kit (cant remember the exact reason why but something to do with the ballast determining the output so 35w puts less load on your electronics than 55w unit).

One upgrade I did with mine recently was to buy replacement bulbs from ebay (about tenner) with a metal base as this kit as well as lots of others have the bulbs sitting on a plastic base and you don't really want that much heat output near plastic parts.
 
Just checked my email - H7 NEW CANBUS TERMINATOR HID KIT SLIM 35W (Dipped Beam)
(Colour Temp.: 5000k)

Colour is a nice white with a hint of blue. Nice and bright. Also changed sidelights to led to match!
