re earlier posts on coding out various features on the m, has anyone tried to remove the speed limiter? i have seen posts that it can be done as part of a remap for 600 quid. could this be done by coding possibly. any thoughts or experiences ? many thanks all.

Has a higher top speed in 5th than 6th as the limiter only cuts in on 6th year, I'm sure someone on here could remove it for less

I don't believe there are enough horses to reach V max in 6th, unless you modify the engine? :o

She will happily reach around 172 in 5th though, without any modifications. So I would not waste any money removing the limiter myself. :D :driving:

^you'll be pushing the redline (at 172mph the engine makes 8048rpm), but I even expect it'll be faster then still as in 6th with the limiter removed. Max power for the s54 is at 7900rpm, and in 6th the rpm drops to about 6800rpm at that speed (and thus way less power, probably not enough to sustain that speed).
So I think changing tyre circumference or raizing the revlimiter is the answer if you want to go over 172mph with a z4m.

Just a thought :D

I've happily done 165 (limiter) in 6th, it's got plenty left! My s2000 would do 160 and it had 100bhp less...
