Limited slip diff

Hey everyone,
I'm thinking about installing a Quaife or Mfactory lsd for my e86 manual.
Has anyone used Mstyle garage in Romford, they're selling Quaife for 990£ or 1230£ with fitting, vat included, check it out online.
Also could someone explain me please why Mfactory is suggesting 3.07 or 3.15 ratio, I believe a manual e86 has 3.46 ratio diff.

I've checked that already. They seem to be the main dealer of Quaife. But unfortunately the price is way to high for me. They're asking 1670£ fitted.
I'm even thinking of fitting it myself, it's not a very complicated job, just not easy without a lift.

Can be done in a day with the car on jack stands. I paid to get the LSD unit fitted to the diff itself, but seeing what takes to do it, I would never pay for that again.
 
That's encouraging :D I'm considering doing it myself, been quoted over 500£ in labour costs by a different garage :o
 
Does it drift though?

Because lets face it you just want to hang the back end out on a roundabout like a boss :lol
 
Haha I admit l ways wanted to do that :evil: I'm not sure if it's easy to drift, maybe someone else could answer that.
Apparently it improves other things like acceleration and makes it easier to predict the car so hopefully it's not just a waste of money :lol:
 
So just in case someone reads this, here's an update.
I contacted Mstyle to buy the diff, they said they'd call me back to confirm model, but never did, their loss. I ended up buying the diff from Birds, got it the next day.
I installed it myself on the street lol, took me 3 long days though and had to go to a shop to get the bearings removed/pressed.
I have to say it's a hard job without a lift/good tools.
I already went for a short drive, the car honestly feels quite different, very easy to kick out the back end which I have to admit I suck at :oops:
I'm in so much pain now after this :lol:

You'll get the hang of it quickly enough. Go to an area where you can test the limits and learn to control the rear with the throttle. But don't you just love how you feel the car being pulled into the corners now?
 
I agree it really feels different in a good way, I didnt play with it much though.
I'm trying to find some nice, safe place to go and get some experience controlling the beast. If anyone know any places in Mancester, please share :D
