A lot of forums include a 'like' button to show appreciation of a user's post (a la Facebook!).

Yes fair enough, but that involves creating a new post. OK no biggie, but a ‘like’ achieves the same thing in one keystroke.

In case you haven't noticed. Some of us like to create new post. Even when they are off topic, irrelevant, drivel. I know, but can be fun and passes the hours waiting for the rain to stop. :roll: :lol: :wink:

Another forum I belong to uses likes and the likes show next to the posts in your screen name info. So starting this now would look bad for you old timers. You know 60799 posts 2 likes
