Like it dirty?

Have just finished about 500 miles of driving to home (Thurso) and back the car is a tad dirty. Anybody else actually quite like seeing their car coated in dirt? They all look great when polished up to a mirror like finish, but I actually quite like seeing the lines in the dirt, assuming it's like having flow-viz paint on the body! Looks good that the car's been well used!

That's a great road trip all the way to Thurso :thumbsup:

Mine is filthy after my weekend - looks like yours except for the funny curved thing you have on the top :D

I like the 'used' look, feels like a mission completed... :driving: ...however the thought of what all that salt is doing to the bodywork and underside is now making me twitch every time I look at it :cry:
 
I should say, its been washed within a day of getting home again! Was quite pleased how much protection the last waxing should be providing as the water beaded straight away when soaked.

It's a good drive up to Thurso sometimes. We took a detour over Struey and through Lairg on the way up which has some beautiful scenery and are fun roads to hoon along. never known the A9 north of Inverness to be so quiet, caught maybe 4 cars the whole way. Really annoyingly one of them was an MG being driven at the speed of a snail right on the approach to the Berriedale Braes :(
 
Still about 5 inches of snow on the ground down here, so I'm facing the prospect of a quick local hand car wash in the morning whilst out on the school run, or having to leave it until Saturday... Otherwise I'll turn the drive and/or road into an ice rink :cry:
 
Too cold to wash car up here. Water turns to ice on contact with car. My looks like cj's (almost as dirty, but mine doesn't have that nasty tin roof :poke: :lol: )

I would rather leave it dirty m8 rather than have someone else using god knows what on your paint work, Getting that done usually results in the nightmare cobwebbing swirls.. Especially on black .....no no no Bing, no, just NO

Yes boss :oops: Especially as I now know what the 2 bucket methods is, and am a newbie practitioner :wink:

Staying dirty till Saturday then, at which point it will have approx 1,700 miles worth of dirt and salt on it :cry:

1,500 hundred miles of dirt accumulated in the last week, and almost all of it is salt - I twitch violently every time I see it... First thing tomorrow morning she's being thoroughly but lovingly desalinated, hood and underside included :thumbsup:
 
I like that shot of the aerial with the flow of dirt around it :)

I think you got it right though when you said there's a 'mission complete' feel to it. It's even more satisfying to see how clean it us underneath when you're washing it!
 
Yeah - almost left the stubby speed stripes :D

Looks lovely now though - might even put another coat of polish on tomorrow if I can get away with it :wink:
