So chaps,
As promised I have embarked on the lighting upgrade for my zed to replace the victorian candles that were installed.
I thought i would be risky and not take the advice of people here to remove the front wheels, and as it happened i was lucky and had no issues with gaining access and replacing the bulbs.
So a couple of interesting points, I took the opportunity to replace the side lights with a couple of LED bulbs to give it a bit of a whiter / brighter look. I also then installed a pair of Philips X-tremeVision +130% bulbs (http://www.powerbulbs.com/product/philips-xtreme-vision-130-h7-twin). They are still a bit yellow for me, but they are a significant improvement on the previous lights. I do need to adjust them slightly higher, so will be reading through the forums to find the location of this adjustment.
Image below shows the result of the two separate bulbs installed:

Also interestingly the previous owner was clearly someone who understood a few of the typical issues you guys have highlighted throughout this excellent forum, namely condensation within the headlights. So I was surprised and interested to find the previous owners solution to mitigate this issue:

Quite obvious and I'm not sure as to how successful it actually is, but there is no condensation, so you never know, it might be working!
Anyway, thought i would share the upgrade with you.
I have also replaced the reversing light with a LED bulb and also the rear lights, brake and indicator lights. They definitely look clearer and brighter than the traditional bulbs.
Next stage is to replace the internal lights with small LED lights to brighten that up. I have just done a China special and bought them all off eBay to find out that the provided LED bulbs are too big to fit into the front done housing. Hey ho, back to eBay.
cheers!....
