Life of Xenon bulb?

Does anyone know what the life of an OEM BMW Xenon bulb is? I know they are expensive to replace but I was wondering how long one should last under normal conditions.
 
Lifetime of the car if properly used.

Biggest cause of failure if switching them on and off repeatedly
