Lidl Ultimate Speed battery charger 3.8 A1

i have an optimate connected directly to the battery and never had any issues

'heads up' for anyone interested, this is back on sale this thursday, at £13.99 I might get one myself me thinks :D http://www.lidl.co.uk/cps/rde/SID-0EFE1250-A9EBF2EF/www_lidl_uk/hs.xsl/our-offers-2491.htm?action=showDetail&id=6203

I bought one a year ago and it "saved" a dead field battery for an electric fence. Only problem is some scroat has now nicked the energiser! So now one charged battery but nothing to electrify :x

Seems to work well on the car as well and keeps the battery topped up when I'm unable to drive for extended periods.

I've had three of these in regular use for years. They're superb value.

With specific regard to using a trickle charger on the Z4M: use the connections under the bonnet. From memory, there's a +ve connection under a black plastic cover on the bulkhead (left side) and -ve connection (exposed nut) on the left suspension tower. Simply connect the clips of the charger to the two terminals and run the wires out through the bonnet when it's shut. They really are idiot-proof!
