Let's talk exhaust options

Believe it, they are that expensive. Hamann, Reiger, AC Schnitzer authentic parts are CRAZY expensive, I've seen a few Eisenmann quads and they look GOOD. the Milltek cant be bought in the good old US of A

The Remus systems are good value and a quality product but not very much louder than standard.

so r those 4 tailpipes from hamann for z4 non M ?!

i don't know about esinmann r they good or not ?!

i wanted to see hamann coz they say that they r good

I believe the Hamann's are rebrands of the Eisenmann.

Eisanmann can be bought in the USA from their authorized dealer, Eisenhaus.

Expensive stuff though.

Eisenhaus is NO LONGER AN AUTHORIZED DEALER OF EISENMANN. Eisenhaus was caught for selling fake Eisenmann exhausts for the E46 M3's, E90/92 335's, and E60 M5's. The fake ones were made in Korea instead of Germany where real Eisenmann exhausts are made.

Hamann exhausts are made by Supersprint and rebadged as Hamann.

Posted my first attempt at an external sound...I'll try again next week for a better clip

Seems like everything is still around 1,000 or more. It is frustrating coming from an E46 where there were a number of options sub $500.

i know that supersprint do the hamann exhaust but do they fit ?!

and can i install the mufflers and then do the rest or i have to install it all ?! from the engine to the mufflers ?!!

I'd take it to a shop....unless you have the ability to lift your car on an overhead lift. Jackstands didn't get my car up high enough to safely get underneath and use the saw perpendicular to the pipes as is necessary. After the cut, it's all bolt on (at least for the supersprint). But you can go to any muffler shop and have them install it for 100 bucks. I wasn't willing to risk the damage to car or myself from using the saw for that price.

so do u have the 4 tailpipe muffler or just 2 ?!

it's ok i can take it to any muffler shops but i was saying that i don't have the money to buy the whole system so can i install the muffler then headers, center pipe, cat system ?! or i have to do that all at once ?!!

I only have the 2 pipe (1 exhaust) on my 2.5. In my shopping, I found most systems to be cat back systems. So you don't need to do the headers or cat stuff at the same time. Also, some exhausts use a dual pipe entry to the exhaust like what is standard on the Z's. These are even easier to fit. The supersprint is a single pipe into the exhaust (claimed better airflow) so that's why you have to buy their centerpipe. The superstrint centerpipe converts the dual pipes to the single one to mate with their exhaust. Supersprint may be the only system that requires the centerpipe to be changed at the same time as the exhaust.

Just posted some better sound clips today. Here they are...they're in my supersprint post too.

Thanks for the video clips, it sounds great. So you have the Supersprint RACE right? To confirm. Also for the cutting you mean you cut (where specifically), slip on the supersprint mid pipe (clamp on I pressume) then bolt up the muffler to the stock mounting points? Thanks

You have to cut the two pipes coming out of the catalytic converter...a few inches after it to allow room for the center pipe to clamp on to these two cut pipes. Then the exhaust then clamps on the single pipe at the end of the centerpipe and mounts in the stock brackets.

magnaflow is seemed to be liked a lot by american car and truck owners. i know my trucker friends speak highly of them, but i don't know anyone with an import (german or jap) with a magnaflow

it is not "just stainless steel" as someone said earlier

a well built exhaust has lots of R&D behind it. if the company did their homework, they tested many different way to bend the pipes and different diameters to get the best combo of low end and high end as adjusting from stock will usually yield a sacrifice somewhere in the power curve (ie. low rpm range), but may be worth it if the gains in other areas (ie. high rpm range) are great

another thing that goes into the cost of an exhaust is the weight. are you saving weight or adding? usually the cheaper you go the heavier and less R&D, in which case, y change at all? just for the sound?? so you will sound louder, but be slower than stock??

sorry to break it to you, but unfortunately, you may have to pony up a lot more to mod the Z4 over the 3-Series

I came from an E46 as well, so I feel your pain.

So far this is my list; Remus, Dinan, Supersprint, Eisenmann, B&B, Racing Dynamics, and SACLAM. All are 700$+ Never heard anyone with the Racing Dynamics, seen one video with the B&B and SACLAM. If anyone is familiar with Highline Tuning in the E46 3-Series division, I'll be working with the owner to hopefully put out an enthusiast minded exhaust for the Z4 and Z4M. Very affordable and killer sound; for example, his full catback stainless steel systems are 699$ for the E46 and Axel back at under 400$ I'll keep you guys posted :P

If the Racing Dynamics you're talking about is located in the U.S., long story short- they're essentially fraud and NOT the real Racing Dynamics.
