I’m considering using watchfinder to treat myself to an omega planet ocean

I remember from my first time here (about 10 years ago) there were some knowledgeable folk with sensible advice.

I’d welcome any observations from people more knowledgeable than I am on the subject.

Cheers

Love my planet Ocean Chronograph, Caliber 9900. It's a bit big and chunky, so if you like dainty watches it's not for you. I've got a Seamaster Chronograph also, this is definitely the next step up. Nearly bought Omega number 3 the other week, but running out of arms.

Never owned an Omega but have used Watchfinder for a couple of watches and trading a Tag Carrerra against another watch and found them faultless. Their watches tend to be in perfect condition.

Had 3 POs over the years and loved everyone. I prefer the 42mm for my 7.5 inch wrist. The 46mm is heavy and very imposing but a fantastic watch nonetheless. They are bulletproof. Buying off watchfinder is a great experience, I have purchased four watches over the years off them and never had a problem.

Took delivery of this today. I have been tempted for a while, then bought it while saying the words "f**k it, you've earned it. 😜

very nice, i do love a Panerai, but you will be hooked now, they do some great pieces, especially the older stuff.

As this is the right place to the watch people, I bought a Tudor watch for my wife but I am not sure about it due to the time it gains. It has been back twice now to adjust as first it was gaining 5 minutes per day, then 3 minutes a day after repair. Now it is gaining 30 seconds a day which means as it is not worn every day, that the time has to be adjusted every time she wears it as it soon adds up.

Is that acceptable though? Tudor states that 30 seconds per day is acceptable.

It depends on the movement, there is the in house movement that's COSC certified so an average of -4 to +6 seconds per day and there's the latest in house which is METAS certified and that's 0 to +5 seconds per day.
My mk1 Pelagos has a Tudor fettled ETA movement and it gains about 6 seconds per day which is pretty good, it's 12 years old and has been serviced by Tudor in 2022.
Knowing the movement is the key.
Also, it's good practice to manually wind an automatic watch if it's on a watch winder for long periods, depends who you ask but I use 20 spins with my fingers. If one of mine stops fully, I do 30 spins.

I've not worn a watch since I was a kid. (Casio calculator)

Bought 2 watches last year (his and hers)
