Cheap watch in a fifty quid case to fool morons on kickstarter - Marloe watches
I'm probably best not rising to the bait...

People are not being forced to buy it, all of the information is out there, what's the problem? And when you're ready, please post up your company selling Swiss made watches so I can take a look, eh? Are they £250, or £2500?

Yes, it is an inexpensive wth with a Chinese movement.

Nice styling - looks as good to me as the cheap watches you see in mass market magazines - Daniel Steiger, Timex, Fossil, Invicta. One expects glitzy packaging - how else would you enhance sales?

If they keep time and the quality isn't crap (easily worn plating et.) then they may turn out to be a decent lower end product.

Fancy packaging sells everything - cars, watches, pens,

1 - it's not Swiss in any way

2 - the movement is a cheap 30 dollar Chinese produced piece

3 - the box probably cost as much as the watch to produce

4 - the name suggests it's made in the U.K. .... I'm sure the strap is attached in the UK to avoid having to put made in China on the case but let's all be honest that's all that differs it from Chinese tat

5 - so 30 dollar Chinese movement, 30 dollar European case, 15 dollar strap ( probably USA if it's real leather ) - 75 dollar watch

And they are marketing this as a English time piece

Hahaha

Nice one

The cost for 1000 movements on alibaba works out to 22 dollars each

So it's a 15 quid movement

I can buy better ones on Benidorm beach,

But don't forget it's got Great Britain stamped on it guys

That's quality there hahahahahaha

Gonna step in here.. I know sod all about the watch in question but from the fact it's hand wind, the layout and your descriptions I'm guessing 649x based clone.

I have had a few watches with those movements and read a few pages back I used one as a base to build my own watch. It's a simple and very well respected movement design and the Chinese clones often perform as well if not better than the Swiss ETA Unitas made ones, they are practically identical.

So whilst on the subject of these movements think about panerai $200 649x Swiss movement but sell the watch for £10,000 and think if this microbrand is such a bad deal. I mean Hublot stick a sellita in £10,000 watch FFS apart from the few manufacture brands watches are all marketing

I never said they were, I was simply asking for your amazing watch company's name, as you seem so switched on about it. You also seem to struggle to read, as the site says "Hand Wound Watches Designed in Great Britain" and explains the movement is from China.

Shock horror that a company makes some money on a product! Who'd have thunk it?!

Stop being a moron, someone posted up a image of a watch they liked and wanted to share. If they were unhappy, they could have returned it.

Yeah, but what about my Casio, eh? Eh? Eh? Lovely movement.

Actually, I couldnt care about movements & snob value, I am more impressed with that Marloe watch being about £75 and looking that good, than I am with the blinged up watches costing £40K with so many functions it is almost impossible to see the time. That Marloe is stylish and easy to read the time on, which is kinda the whole object of a watch. My Casio is as clear as crystal for that function!

Nice comment  Its not only kickstarter that has morons on it then!!

My Straton Curve Chronograph finally arrived last Friday, I've been waiting for this watch for quite some time and placed an order on a kickstarter scheme and have to say I think it was worth the wait, worth a visit on their website if your interested in racing inspired watches.

I like that one Tim, about £500 I think so not outrageous, but enough! Which back and movement did you go for? I see you got the gloves as well, assuming that is you in the pics!

It has the mecca quartz movement and thought twice about ordering one as would have preferred mechanical but I do love the retro style and swapped out the leather strap for their mesh strap, the rear of the case has the BBS alloy wheel design. I've found the company great to deal with and owner Kyle is a top bloke and keeps you informed on the manufacture progress. It normally takes 3 to 4 months after placing an order on a new release to receiving the watch.

Sorry I couldn't resist the pics in the Z3  Straton also do driving gloves but the ones I'm wearing I've had some time from another source :)

Does anyone use an automatic watch winder ?

I'm waiting for one to arrive from evilbay, it can be set to go clock or anti clockwise.
Does it make any difference to which way it's set to go ?

My watch Breitling Superocean heritage 46.

Sorry if this has been talked about but didn't feel like trawling through 40 odd pages.

I use one daily for my Tag Monaco Gulf, I tend to switch it on when I get home from work and off again at the end of the evening, I think it runs for an hour or so then comes back on and so on. I tend to set it to go clockwise lol although I don't think it makes much difference.
